Aeri Soo	A quick, clever thief. Hired to steal King Joon’s crown. Hides her past and has her own revenge against the king. Skilled at sleight of hand.
Sora (Athora)	A trained “poison maiden,” immune to most poisons after surviving brutal training. Forced to kill for Count Seok to protect her sister Daysum.
Euyn	Exiled prince of Yusan. Joon’s younger brother. Wrongly condemned to die but survived. Potential heir to the throne if Joon dies.
Mikail	Royal spymaster. Manipulative, charming, and dangerous. Once loved Euyn and still has feelings for him. Secretly wants to destroy the crown.

Daysum	Sora’s younger sister. Frail health. Held hostage by Count Seok as leverage over Sora.
Count Rune	Western Count of Yusan. Controls Rahway. Cruel, politically cunning, and allied with Count Seok in the plot to kill Joon.
Count Bay Chin	Northern Count of Yusan. Suspected of a failed attempt to kill Joon with a crossbow. Currently uninvolved in the plan.
Count Dal	Eastern Count of Yusan. Supports the assassination plot. Will disguise Sora as his courtesan to get her near Joon.

Gli	Young girl Sora teaches foraging to outside Gain. Reminds Sora of her younger self.
Dot	Sora’s pet tabby cat. Provides comfort and calm in her otherwise dangerous life.
Irad	Count Seok’s head of household. Proud, strict, and loyal to Seok.
Madame Iseul	Headmistress of the poison maiden school. Powerless under Count Seok but treated the girls with small kindnesses.
Savio	Corrupt guard at Salt Prison. Agreed to help Royo free Hwan in exchange for a fortune.
Lord Shan	Nobleman whose empty villa briefly hosted Sora and Tiyung on their journey to Rahway.
Naerium	Deceased wife of King Joon. Her death left Joon without children.
Theum	Late former King of Yusan and father of Joon, Omin, and Quilimar. Possibly murdered by Joon.
